Charles H. Raley, Jr.
Charles H. Raley, Jr. has been representing maritime personal injury clients since 1986, including tug deckhands, towboat mates, tug captains, docking pilots, dredge deckhands, dredge riggers, marine crane operators, dockside crane operators, longshoremen, checkers, ship repairmen, pleasure boat repairmen, recreational boaters, ferry passengers, stevedore supervisors, and delivery crew. He also represents civilians injured while working for companies supporting the U.S. Department of Defense overseas. He has collected millions of dollars for his clients.
Raley is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and the South Carolina Bar. He is also admitted to practice in the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Raley received his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel and his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. Raley is a Proctor Member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Admiralty Section. Raley has lectured at law schools and at continuing legal education programs on maritime topics. Raley is active in the community, serving as a member of the Historic Savannah Foundation, the Savannah Yacht Club, and the Carolina Yacht Club, as well as other civic and social clubs. He has served as a member of the vestry of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
Erin Brownfield Raley
Erin Brownfield Raley is a tested trial lawyer who advises individuals and corporations regarding personal injury, business disputes and contracts. Having previously served as insurance coverage and defense counsel for many years, she is uniquely qualified to assess personal injury claims and advise clients regarding the potential for recovery. Raley has obtained over seventy favorable jury verdicts for clients. Her personal injury and business litigation trial practice includes mediation and arbitration of claims in addition to jury and bench trials. She also works with her law partner and spouse, Charles H. Raley, Jr., as special trial counsel in admiralty and maritime claims involving workers injured on the waterfront.
Raley is admitted to the State Bars of Georgia and Tennessee. She is admitted to practice in all courts in Georgia and Tennessee, and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. She is a member of the Savannah Bar Association, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Defense Research Institute, and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.
Raley received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is a recipient of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers Most Outstanding Advocate Award and was named a “Rising Star” in the Super Lawyers publication that also appears annually in an edition of Atlanta Magazine. Raley is active in the community, serving as a board member for the Girl Scout Council of Savannah, Georgia, as a member of the Historic Savannah Foundation, and as a member of the Savannah Yacht Club, as well as other civic and social clubs. She is a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
